The Client

Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) provides public health services to the communities of Central Coast Council. Located between Sydney and the Hunter Valley the Central Coast is a popular coastal region attracting young families and retirees. The region experiences a higher than average population growth particularly in the Wyong Shire.

The region is served by two acute hospitals – Gosford and Wyong. Gosford Hospital is the principal referral hospital and regional trauma centre for the Central Coast, Wyong Hospital is a major metropolitan hospital while Woy Woy Hospital and Long Jetty Healthcare Centre provide sub-acute care. Additionally there are eight community health centres and other community based services.

The Challenge

In October 2016, CCLHD was looking for a software solution than can manage various type of assessment forms for their Workplace Based Assessment (WBA) requirement from Australian Medical Council (AMC). The solution they required needed to be user friendly and easy to use by junior doctors and assessors. There were some additional requirements including the admin must be able to design forms by themselves, define workflows and send automatic system notifications were assessments are due.

The Solution

We presented our H.Prime 2 System that caters most of their requirements with few other customisation for their WBA assessments for AMC. H.Prime 2 was built based on 10+ years of experience working with hospitals. Various types of assessment forms for Junior Doctors and Supervisors are pre-built in H.Prime 2. Moreover, H.Prime 2 provides a Dynamic Forms Module which gives hospital administration the freedom to design and create their own forms for assessment purposes. CCLHD has been using our H.Prime 2 System not only for WBA assessments but for News, Events, Resource Sharing and Email Communication. We have further enhanced the assessment workflows and added several features at their request to more effectively match their needs.

The Outcome

H.Prime 2 simplifies the WBA Assessments for AMC and is easy to manage. It reduces the administration workload, digital transformation of the paper based forms and timely submission of assessments by Junior Doctors and Assessors.
  • From 2017 the CCLHD Workplace Based Assessment(WBA) candidates have completed all assessments on the HPrime 2 System. HPrime 2 is an easy to use and efficient electronic platform that enables the WBA program to ensure that each assessment meets the Australian Medical Council (AMC) guidelines. From initial consultation HPrime 2 has provided ongoing immediate assistance with any of our concerns and has been able to meet all of our various requests thus tailoring the program to meet our needs. HPrime 2 has enabled improved efficiency and ensures that we are meeting the AMC requirements. This program has an easy to use interface and vast versatility, the responsiveness of the support team has been outstanding and is a major benefit of this fantastic program.
